Storms Pound North Texas with Hail, Tornadoes, Heavy Rain
Fierce storms pounded many areas of North Texas on April 3, bringing baseball- to softball-sized hail in many locations and even spawning at least one confirmed tornado. Homes in Denton, Aubrey, Frisco, McKinney, Farmersville and other areas no doubt suffered a large amount of hail damage. If your home was hit, you need to have a professional check your roof immediately to see what sort of damage it may have suffered.
Why Hail Damage Needs to be Fixed ASAP
After storms like the ones we had on April 3, hail damage is often one of the consequences. But if you get on a ladder and check your roof after a storm blows through, you may not see anything. As a result, you may believe that you got lucky and emerged unscathed. In many instances, however, this type of damage may not be readily apparent to the untrained eye. However, just because you don’t see gaping holes in your roof, that doesn’t mean you’re automatically in the clear and don’t need roof repair.
When hail damage takes place, water can easily seep through your roof during the next heavy rain. If you don’t act quickly, that water can result in the need for extensive – and expensive – home repairs. You may also be susceptible to the accumulation of mold that could lead to potentially serious health problems for those who have respiratory issues.
Take that risk out of the equation if your home was hit by the April 3 storms. Have your roof checked to see if you suffered hail damage as soon as you can.
